A Conundrum

We have a conundrum concerning my food.  (Mom just taught me that word.)  Mom came home from BlogPaws with lots of swag that included all kinds of canned and dry food and treats.  She started to phase in the new foods and I loved them.  I ate everything.   Then she started to read the labels.

Now the conundrum.  Mom has this thing about chemicals.  She reads the ingredients and if she can't pronounce them, she won't eat them.  That's the same with the food she feeds me.   But, I really like the other kind also, especially the canned.   The companies wouldn't make food that's bad for me so why can't I have food that tastes good to me?

My Dinner
So what do you think?  Shouldn't mom just feed me food that I love?

  1. It's just sooo overwhelming to know who to trust with these things really! I try to research and ask my blogger buddies :)

Nutrish was at the conference and my Mom feeds me all of their food. I love it and so does she!

    1. She got Natural Balance, Beneful, Hartz, Nurtish, Purclean, and lots of others. I haven't tried them all yet. We're working through them and so far, I've like them. After we test everything, mom and I will zero in on what is good for me and what I like. Right now I get Halo dry food mixed with Merritt canned food.

  3. I'm very particular about what I feed the dogs, if mom doesn't like the ingredients she shouldn't give it to you. You might like to chase taxi cabs too, but that's not good for you, you might get hurt and mom wouldn't let you.

Sometimes moms have to make tough decisions.

    1. Since I know she loves me, I guess she wouldn't do anything to hurt me.

  4. I'm surprised you got different brands of food for BJ. Stick to one brand and yes to unfamiliar ingredients. Golden Woofs, Sugar

    1. We got so much swag at BlogPaw I thought I would test some new foods. He gets bored so periodically I get some new choices. I am watching the ingredients.

    1. It's called making money. People don't care what they eat nor do they car about what pets eat.

Take a look at the number of obese people and obese dogs and cats.

  6. they put all sorts of flavor enhancements in that food to make it taste good... makes you wonder what it would taste like without them. If you can afford better, I say eat better food. Don't just eat something because it was free.

    1. Good advice. Today mom gave me dry food mixed with canned food. I love the canned food and refused to eat the dry. Even though it was limited ingredients I didn't like the taste.

For dinner I hope mom goes back to my canned food and my favorite dry food. Luckily mom can afford the premium food and I like it.

It's Mom here. Every once in a while I try new food for him because he seems to get bored. The swag from BlogPaws was a good opportunity to test some foods. There were a few of the more pure food that he loved.
