Pet Buggies (Strollers)

When I walked the streets with mom, I would see doggies sitting in a buggy and being wheeled around.  I thought it looked silly.  The dogs didn't seem to mind.

I got older and so much for my thinking something was silly.  I guess I'm slowing down at 15 1/2 and mom doesn't want me to have to give up going to the park or taking me with her when she goes on long walks.

Central Park

The weather is now nice enough to go to Central Park and before 9 AM I can run (err, walk) around without a leash.

That's where there's a problem.  We're almost a mile to the park, then I run (or walk) around, and then a mile home.
I get really tired and mom has to carry me for a bit.
I'm a perfect weight but too heavy for her to carry me for long.  That's when she got it into her head that I needed a buggy.

Do you have any idea how many dog buggies and strollers are on the market?  Hundreds.
With so many choices it takes time to research and then choose.  She also checked with friends.
She search for weeks she decided on the Pet Gear Jogger Stroller because of the features.  And the colors.  We got hunter green.  I look good in green.

Me unpacking

The box came and mom was soooooo slow.  I had to speed things up and helped unpack.

The front wheel makes it easy to maneuver; the air wheels make it easy to wheel in the grass and over broken streets in NYC. The no-zip feature is great for me - it's easy and quick to close the top.

I like to stand.  I get taller.

Top Down

The netting is darker than she would have liked.  It protects me from sun, but I can't see out so well.

It's also heavy to lift.

If you rely on C/S buy from a different company. There's only email. It took days to get the size when closed. I have a very small car and the closed stroller size was important. It doesn't fit. It should be in the Specs.

LG Customer Service - YUK

Mom uses her SmartPhone to take pictures of me all the time.  Even when I try to hide.  She was using the Galaxy S3 until her provider changed networks and she needed a new phone.  The company gave her the brand new LG Leon and she had to learn how to use the features.

There in started the saga with the LG Leon Phone Customer Service (or lack thereof).

Mom got the new LG Leon phone.  After four days when the phone didn’t turn on, she began an online LiveChat with Eunice.  For 10 minutes Eunice repeatedly said to press the on/off button and ultimately said to go back to the store to exchange it.  Mom would have removed the battery and put it back, but the back was so stiff she couldn’t remove it.  Eunice never even suggested it.

The sales rep removed the battery, put it back, and voila, the screen came alive.  It took less than 20 seconds.  Eunice didn’t know to do that.

The manual gave no information on its features so it was back to LG LiveChat to learn how to choose multiple photos from the Gallery and upload them to DropBox all at once.  Eunice was back. Mom did everything she suggested and the phone uploaded all 900+ photos to Dropbox which overloaded the allotment.  One more thing the Eunice didn’t know how to do.  Eunice kept sayng to press icons when there weren’t any, to expect screens to appear when they didn’t, press on choices that were not offered, etc. so you get the gist.  She finally admitted she couldn’t help and said to call the c/s number.

This time it was a young man,  It was about a 1/2 hour, he put mom on hold to find out an answer; and did no better than Eunice.  Mom played with it and figured it out.  The order of what was needed was not the what he said.

Customer service is only as good as the person who's talking to you.

The bottom line, LG has terrible customer service and would be better off with a kid as c/s.

                                                 She's back to taking pictures.

Internet Information - sometimes too much

My bad.  I know I said I was going to post often and I haven't.   A few problems came up for mom and now things are settled.  I'm giving mom this post.  She'll probably go backwards in posting and finally get to BlogPaws.

The annual BlogPaws Conference is a fabulous opportunity to go to learning sessions on blogging, connects pet bloggers and gives us a chance to meet face-to-face.   Then of course are the venders.  We get  chance to ask questions and get samples.

My Coupon
Games act as incentives to visit all the booths.  There are prizes attached to the games and that brings out my competitiveness.  I got every box stamped.  And when Chloe pulled the cards for prizes, I won a gift card from Chewy.com.  What was even better, I order BJ's food and treats from there all the time.

If you've been getting my FaceBook posts  (My Facebook page), I've been searching for a stroller for BJ.  I  researched for hours before BlogPaw , I asked people at BlogPaws, I researched since I got home.  The wonderful thing about the Internet is that there is so much information.  The terrible thing about the Internet is that there is so much information.  Do you have any idea how may pet strollers are on the market?   And, there are sites I've never heard of that have strollers.

First, I needed to decide on a 3-wheel or 4-wheel.  I asked everyone, even people with baby strollers.  After I decided on a 3-wheel, it left the questions of tires: large or small, rubber or plastic (rubber gives a smoother ride.  Not finished yet.  Style: regular or jogger (They had a slightly different look.).  Style within each Style.  (Extra features, of which there are what seemed like a hundred.)  Then:  Color;  Price; Shipping.  And the extras: a weather cover, hooks, etc.

I forgot, I needed the folded measurements to see if  it would fit in my Smart car's tiny trunk.  I don't think it will.

It took a lot of time and going back and forth looking at images.  Also going back and forth for color.  You would think I was choosing something permanent.)  I finally ordered the Pet Gear, 3-wheel, Jogger, large air tires, in Forest Green.  By now you may have guessed that I am  slightly OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).

Chewy had exactly what I wanted, a great price and free shipping.  I've been ordering from Chewy for years and have always found this company to have an extensive product selection and, importantly, they are very reliable. I will get it within three days.  Can't wait.  If the weather cooperates we'll use it immediately.

BlogPaws Experience 2015

I knew it was a while since I posted, I just didn't realize it was that long ago.
BlogPaws inspired mom and she's back on track.  I'm letting mom post this time because she didn't take me.  It was the third year that she left me home.
I'm very unhappy
It's not fair.  There were about 70 dogs, cats, and other pets in Nashville and I was home with Taisha my dog sitter.  I'm 15 1/2 and won't have too many more chances to go.

BP 2015 was in Nashville and the third conference.  It was exciting to realize that I would meet new people and catch  up with people from before.  I made up my mind that this year I was going to push through my shyness and meet more people.   What happened after posting and "corresponding" on Facebook I feel as though I really know them.  It's a way of connecting with people I otherwise would never have met.

Carma dressed for the Red Carpet
I had many more FB friends in the pet community this year and it was easier to begin to talk to them or the dogs and cats.  I walked into the Sheraton I saw Carma Poodale, a  beautiful white standard poodle that was a FB friend.  Carma is so sweet and takes good care of her mommy.  Bunny introduced me to an amazing group of her friends and I felt more comfortable being at BlogPaws.  From then on I laughed and had fun with a new group of friends.

A funny thing to mention, but it was the first conference I've attended that I don't need a down coat.  Hallelujah.

I'll talk more about BlogPaws and post pictures tomorrow rather than have this be a four-page post.

I'm late with this post because it took me two days to get home and one day to catch up on sleep. - another time.
